2022 ARTANKARA PROJECTS

ANGİKAD-TOBB ETÜ GENDER EQUALITY STREET
In the fictionalized installation, masks representing human faces were created. These masks are a reflection of society as a means of conveying emotion. The expression of the feelings of violence, sadness, excitement, surprise and even happiness that people cannot express most of the time are facial expressions. With the participation of TOBB ETU Faculty of Architecture and Design Members of Visual Communication Design Department, it is aimed to draw attention to the issue of gender equality with digital illustration, photography and mixed media works with a genealogical and conceptual approach.
ERHAN US-ATAERKILLED
A mini-exhibition of conceptual artist and writer Erhan Us, who criticizes the transformation of gender roles into murderous habits with installations and paintings; Centering on subjects such as domination of the body, inequality of opportunity, the imposition of the concept of beauty, and commodification, it consists of Us's works that have been exhibited in 26 countries in the past years.

He was born in 2013 in Ankara. He is studying at TED College Private Primary School in the 3rd grade. "The Art for Goodness Association" was founded in 2016 under the leadership of art-loving women with the purpose of drawing awareness of art for supporting the works of young artists globally.
PINAR CHILDREN'S PAINTING WORKSHOP
With Pınar International Children's Painting Contest continuing for 40 years as from 1981, we aim at allowing children to express their feelings an thoughts with colors and making a contribution to their intellectual and social developments and interest of fine arts. With the contest, we have put Pınar Children's Painting Workshop into practice by carrying out a new project in 2016. We have provided free art education through specialits within the scope of the workshop and in this way, we help children to discover their talents in art and fine arts.
TUZ BUZ SMITHEREENS
With its motto, "the fate of the circle is spiral", this exhibition associates what people have(n't) experienced while tracing the terracotta pieces and frozen water with a cyclic course. Whatever defined as over and done or perpetual finds/loses itself in a spiral with the freezing mo-ment of smithereens. A the state of findings/losing self is always in-nate in the amorphous one, the self is up for another identity at every turn.Accompained by breakings, splittings and smashing, each smithereen represents a reunion with a moment/memory frozen in the spiral with the motion of the water.
P A R A D O K S
For fine art students of our universities within the scope of "ARTANKAR 2021" Within the framework of the Contest organized with the theme of "Paradox", among the participants they were expected to questions accepted patterns, imposed dogmas and dilemmas, to discover and examine paradoxes and to produce original and pioneering works of art with creative thoghts. 78 participants submitted works to "PARADOKS" Competitions. The Selections Committee found it worth to exhibit the works of 10 participants from among the contestants in accordance with the Contest Specifications. The Selection Committee also makes a specia slection among the works that are not included in the top ten enable young artist candidates works to be exhibited in the "Paradoks" hall.

Like every society in the world Turkish society has placed an important meanings on trees. According to Turkish myhtology the most important tree is beech. The Beech tree has been accepted as sacred and the glands of wishes were hung on the branches.
The wish tree project is organized to raise awarenees about education, violence against women, street, children, street animals and sensitivity to nature.

Ceramic department students need to comprehend the importance and development of ceramic material both in the field or art and industry. Therefore, students should follow technological changes and use these opportunities in their artistic works. In addition to all these, they need to create works by thinking that art is not just about manual skills and techical knowledge.

As we are, everything that has its own nature can be considered as a body in an extended viewpoint. Body represent a unity of its parts. Body is body with its parts, and parts are also a body if they have their own nature and unity. Macro and micro prespectives to the body concept is the background of this project.

"Exhibition like a exhaled breath" "Down the Ages Woman", "Timeless Woman", "Ahh Süreya" Women's social problems; It is a sensitivity and awareness project designed to draw attention to physical and verbal violence, inequalty of opportunity, lack of freedom of clothing, use as a sexual object that it is exploited without its consent and without considering its will.
CHINTAMANI
Work edited curved forms with eyes who saw and describe the seen ones signifies lips which is one the most attractive part of women body. Çintemani figure with an intersection of past, now and present. Movements of this figures fasten up with red and green colors. Eyes are not live and stable; is no meaning of looking without shown. Clear shapes of curves on the surface is against of geometric shapes. Shapes takes a meaning to continuity and repetition.

We are women. We have thousands of minuses brought thousands of by years, tradition, male power... We have thousands of minuses brought by law. Man-superior democratic! we have thousands of usurped rights that councils do not agree with we have rights that are violated in life and art. RED SHOES
Gandhi mentioned about the permanence of ugliness that violence brings with a great prevision. Of course violence is permanent under the ominous and poor shadow of itself. Violence against women is not only permanent shame of ugliness, but also it is an existence of a sharp misery, weakness of brute force, lack of being human, social blindness. ZURAFA WOMEN LIVING WITH RING IN THE NECKS
Long Neck Karen women living in Mae Hong Son, near the Myanmar-Thailand border in the mountainous region in the north of Tahiland, draw the reaction of the whole world because of the rings they wear on their necks. While these women are 5-6 years old, they are hanging around. He's about never to take it off. One of the reasons why Karen women put these rings on their necks is that they look ugly when the slave trade is done.

I chose to adopt their way of seeing Ankara. The traces of my memories in the past shaped my art and my attitude to life. My family, my friends, my educational years all are associated with my approach to Ankara like my beloved father Özel Kavalcı's approach.

ANKARA UNIVERSITY RECYCLE FASION SHOW AND ORCHESTRA
The dress and accessories which were produced from the recyled materials by students of Ankara University will be showed in a fashion show called "Recycle Fashion Show". The Recycle Fashion Show will aim to attract attention that used materials that considered as garbage can be recycled and become valuable again. As an example to recycled materials, newpapers will be used to make shirts and plastic bottles will be used to make dresses with sea theme.

Maryam Mazrooei is an Iranian freelance Photographer and Journalist based in Tehran. For 5 years she has traveled around the Middle East for photography of the conflict and war zones focusing on refugees in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Syria border. She started her work as a journailst bu gradually has changed her projects to photography and has focused on women issues in the middle East as a long-term project.
MISPLACED CHILD
"MISPLACED CHILD" The title refers to Aylan's misfortune to have been born in the wrong geography and he also appears in photos where he does not belong to. The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness for the world's refugee crisiss and also raise funds for war-affected children. The fundraising concept has been exhibited in few places in London. It has been also screened as a slide show in Cambridge's "Festival of Ideas". This is the first exhibition outside of England.
